MTN synergises with Abuja Motor Fair

 MTN Nigeria Limited, one of the leading and widest telecommunications companies in the country will be playing a significant role at the forthcoming 17th Abuja International Motor Fair.

Announcing this at a synergy meeting between MTN Nigeria and BKG Exhibitions Limited, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Ltd, organiser’s of the event said: “In our continuous bid to ensure that participants always have good value for their participation and also enhance the development of the automotive sector in Nigeria, we have in this edition secured the support of MTN Nigeria.
 
The telecommunications giant is using the event to support the rapid development of the automotive and road transport sectors of the Nigerian economy. According to him, this unique global platform will be used to reach out to more Nigerians as well as government, so as to drive more traffic for increased businesses for participants and interaction with policy makers. It is therefore imperative that all stakeholders should tap into this beneficial opportunity.
 
MTN Nigeria, which was represented by Mr. Richard Iweanoge, General Manager Consumer Marketing and Strategy Division disclosed its readiness to use the platform of the 17th  edition of the Abuja International Motor Fair to showcase its (MTN Nigeria) commitment and support towards enhancing the progress of both the road transport and automotive sectors of the economy.
 
The GM decried the state of road transportation in the country, which he said was the major means of transportation for most Nigerians, describing it as terribly inadequate.
 
He noted that the road transport is overburdened due to the comatose status of the rail system and the costly nature of air transport system which is beyond many Nigerians. He however, explained that MTN’s interest in supporting the road sector is to help in utilising the sectors development to make life easier for millions of Nigerians as well as contribute to the nation’s economic development.
 
Mr Iweanoge promised that a lot of MTN freebies would be given to visitors at the fair aside all other MTN activities like free SIM registrations to their numerous customers and other services. The partnership of MTN Nigeria in this year’s Abuja International Motor Fair is expected to add to the bouquet visitors are looking out to enjoy at this year fair and, resident within Abuja and its environs cannot afford to be absent at this grand fair.
 
Thanking MTN for the partnership, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu expressed gratitude to MTN Nigeria for having much belief and confidence in the fair. He explained that considering the past successes of the fair for the last 17 years, it has remained a major platform to position participants and other stakeholders to access and harness the abundant potential of the growing and viable Nigerian automotive sector.
 
The Abuja International Motor Fair is the highest strategic business platform where the largest variety of automotive products and services are showcased in Sub-Saharan Africa.
